Junior Academy gets up and running Little Hay Golf Complex have successfully run Junior Golf Foundation courses for the last four years and many of our current juniors have come through this system. There has been a gap, however, following the foundation courses to reaching a playing standard to join the junior section. The club have therefore set up a ‘Junior Academy’ where juniors who have completed the foundation course can play in a series of 9 hole competitions to obtain a handicap and get used to playing the course and in competitions. The recent graduates from the foundation have all now joined the academy so we have 21 new juniors playing at the club. There will be two competitions a month starting in on the 5th November. If you are interested in helping with these kids or have a child who would be interested in joining please contact the Captain, Ian Richardson (01494 713913) in the first instance. The ‘Academy Coordinator will be Derek Tarling. Thanks to Nick, Michael and Chris from The Complex for helping us set up this new section at the club. Maybe there will be a ‘Nick Faldo’ or ‘Annika Sorenstrem’ amongst them!
